I overall enjoyed this movie as I feel like the great (Rorschach & Doc Manhattan’s performances, the opening scenes, the skill with which the flashbacks were incorporated, the production design, etc) outweighs the not so great (obtrusive musical score, Ozymandius & Silk Spectre’s performances, that sex scene, the fact that somehow all the human heroes seem to have super strength, etc). Though, while watching it, the thinness of the “whodunit” story became apparent to me–which I don’t think is so much a fault of the film as much as the possibly over-hyped (by many, myself included) source material.

Speaking as a huge fan of the original comic, I can say with a clear conscience that this is perhaps one of the best comic book movies I have ever seen. I have read the comic many, Many, MANY times, so I know what's missing, and yes it is a little discouraging to see some of the best aspects of the original missing, but what works in this film REALLY works. I want to list what scenes in this film transitioned perfectly from the comic, but I wouldn't dare spoil any of it for you. The directors cut of 'Watchmen' is the only version of this film you should see, compared to the theatrical release. If you want to watch the definitive version of 'Watchmen' GET THE DIRECTORS CUT!

If you haven't read the book, and don't plan on it, then this is a good movie. The story in the movie makes more sense than the one in the book, but i really missed the symbolism of the comic. Otherwise, a decent movie.

This movie was like "X-Men on Steroids". Although it was filled with (some disturbing) graphic violence (and some gratuitous sex), I found this "noir-ish" super hero flick uniquely humanizing and original. Dazzling visual effects. Creative storyline. Very entertaining.

This edition of "Watchmen" was okay, if you don't base the film off of the graphic novel, you'll be fine. It's dark, and quite frankly? Downright depressing at times, but when a film delves into the dark recesses of our society, it is not cotton candy and purple tights. The film opens with the brutal slaying of a guy chilling in his penthouse apartment, and is followed by Dylan's "Times a' Changin' " , and that should clue the veiwer into the fact that the story that is about to be told is not the typical fare we've seen on screen. The best super-hero films, successfully create a dark sense of urgency for mankinds survival. This film acheives that aspect, but the way to the climax is almost too complicated to follow, with almost too many storylines blurring the viewers perception of the film, but that is the point. If we knew eveything upfront, it wouldn't be much of a film. It is beautifully rendered, and stands out on that front. This is a film where the viewer has to pay attention or they will lose out on the glorious parts of the film. It is well acted, and developed. And I love the soundtrack. The problems that I see with the film are because I love the novel it was based on, so I won't drag those issues out in this review. It's a perfect movie to watch on a day or evening where one is holed up. It is long too, so get a snack and drink :)

There's no question in my mind, as far as superhero movies go, Watchmen was strictly the bottom of the barrel.... If these emotionally dysfunctional jerks and all of their personal dramas were supposed to be the best that we can do for superheroes, then I'd honestly say that the world is utterly doomed, for sure.... And if I really have to read the damn book to appreciate this infantile movie, then forget it. Forget the book. Forget the movie.... Watchmen was a complete waste of time!

When it comes to super-hero flicks (which I've grown quite bored of these days), Watchmen was about as limp (and, yes, unexciting) as Dr. Manhattan's oversized blue wiener... Watchmen's unbearable running time could've easily been cut down by at least 30 minutes. I found there was far too much useless garbage crammed into this film. This excess filler did nothing to improve the story or make me care one iota about any of the characters who I thought were all contemptible in one way or another... It really figures that Watchmen was directed by that former "director" of Gatorade TV commercials, Zack Snyder.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!! IT'S TIME TO PLAY,HOMETHEATER!!
I was not sure what to expect while watching this movie. I have not read any reviews or listen to any one telling me about it ( and there were plenty) and spoil the movie for me. So, one evening i called my friend that loves to talk back to the screen and we watched it. We both enjoyed the characters that neither one of us was familiar with. The visuals were very good and so was the sound. They did a good job with the sound. All my speakers were alive while playing this film. And there was enough bass coming from my subwoofers to make me happy. The one thing that did catch us off guard was the sex scene. I was not expecting that . Or my friend constantly asking "is that his penis?" She was talking about the BLUE NAKED SUPERHERO. hA,HA,HA. I enjoyed this movie and it's different super heroes. I'm giving this movie 4 and half stars. For cool looking super heroes, good sound, good visuals, and a good story. large shrimp, lobster, white rice, tarter sauce, soy sauce, and coke.

Pretty but overall not that great. Enjoyed the aesthetic and the opening scenes (both the fight with the Comedian and the intro credits). Interesting premise, so much potential, but I really question the execution with this one.
