What a fantastic insight into the life of one of my all-time favourite authors and the special bond he and his wife shared with their beloved Trixie. She was an incredible dog, and as both a Koontz fan and dog-lover, this wonderful memoir had me both laughing and crying right through. I'm sure all who read this will wish that Trixie could have lived forever.

Dean Koontz can make you feel all the emotions he's feeling. If you've lived with pets of any kind in your home, you know exactly how he feels. Such a wonderful insight into just how much they really loved Trixie.

I've never read a Dean Koontz novel in my life, but this memoir of his lovely dog made me laugh AND cry. I am not a dog owner, but I want one like Trixie!

Trixie's story and spirit will stay with you long after you finished reading the book. I had to re-read the entire book and then, re-read parts of it. Both the book and book CD are fantastic, a must read!

Trixie Koontz obviously meant a lot to Dean and Gerda. Re her name: "They told us we could change it and that she could quickly be taught to answer to a new name. But if it sounded more like a stripper than a dog, it sounded more like an elf or a fairy than a stripper. Elves and fairies are magical beings, and so was she."
