Summary
Add a SummaryIn a society where humans and vampires co-exist, set in the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, Sookie Stackhouse is a young woman who may have found a perfect boyfriend. Sookie is clairvoyant and constantly hears people's thoughts so it makes dating a bit difficult since she tries to keep her ability a secret. When 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton walks into the Merlotte's Bar & Grill where she works as a waitress, she realizes that she can't "hear" what he's thinking, thus giving away his origins since she can't hear the thoughts of those whom are technically dead.

Add a CommentOkay. I admit it: When I first read the review calling this "vampire porn," my first thought was, I've gotta get my hands on this!...and I wasn't disappointed. Colorful characters, well-acted, and a nice, 21st Century updating of all the vampire stories we're familiar with. Love that Louisiana setting!-but have to agree that the show isn't for the squeamish or the prudish. What are they up to now?-Season 6?-Hope our libraries stock them all!
The quaint community of Bon Temps is coping with the integration of the vampire community as they come out of the coffin. An unfortunate coincidence occurs, though, when a series of women start showing up dead in connection to the local bar and grill Merlotte's, but with enough colourful characters in the community, anybody could be knocking off these ladies. This first season introduced us to a great cast of characters, alive and undead, and with the murder mystery plot embedded in the goings-on, the first season is an exciting start to TRUE BLOOD, a wild and wonderful series.

True Blood is a very dangerous (and sexy) world. It is definitely not a show for everyone but I love it.There are so many fantastic characters and they all go on a wild crazy ride through the seasons. This is a very adult paranormal romance with so much happening it is mind boggling, but it also doesn't take itself too seriously either. Great show!
Too Gorey and too much sex, I call it trash.
There were ALOT of sex scenes which got really annoying, but overall i loved the series and the storyline!
