Very good information. Its a good place to start to understand what you want in a product and help you to make a decision whether to buy that product or not. No not all her reviews may be the same as yours and what works for some may not work for another but I have to say, the information she gives is helpful and worth reading.

Have you read her Complete Beauty Bible? In it she explains how she goes about rating the products according to hard research and evidence on the subject. Shes been doing this for over 20 years! She would agree with you with how important the "product interacts with your own skin". Thats why in her books and on her website she puts enphasises on just that. As she states in this book, her only intention on releasing her own line is to give consumers a choice of product that don't "meet my criteria for performance, they often fall short in other ways. For example, many products I otherwise like contain fragrance (a major cause of skin irritation), coloring agents, problematic preservatives, or irritating or sensitizing plant extracts. Paula's Choice is a lline of skin-care product that I have formulated to meet my own strict criteria."
However, that does not mean that her products are the best and they will always work. Just look at her own costomer reviews on her products on her website.
All in all, I don't belive that- just because she had nothing good to say about the products that works great for you, doesnt mean shes a scam.
After all, she backs everything she says with CITED RESEARCH.
"I truly belive that offering inexpensive, high-quality products that live up to my expectations is a service that will not get in the way of my judgment...Clearly, there are plenty of product from other lines that I have no hesitation in recommending. I'm really happy there are many good options that can have a positive effect on skin, because thats what consumers need: choices."

The first part of the book has some good information on what specific products do for your skin, however you really have to be blind to believe everything she says, it's great that she thinks she can review products just by looking at the chemistry of them, however I think the important part especially with skin care is how the product interacts with your own skin. The funniest part about this is that where all make up and skin care brands have failed, here comes Paula! With her reasonably priced amazing product that will work wonders! Yeah, right. She had nothing good to say about even Dermalogica, which is used in beauty salons across the world and I have had tremendous results with personally - it's because she's too busy recommending her own products, not actually trialling others and - lets not forget she's also endorsed by some of the brands that sit in her "best of" lists.

this book is awesome! I wont go to the cosmetic counter without refering to this book. Easy to read and outlines why she wouldnt recommend certain products. I have changed the products I used and started using what she suggested (in the back of the book she outlines her favorite products) my skin feels great. the only down fault to this book is they only mention facial cleaners and moisturizers, i would have liked more info on body moisturizers as well. there is information on make-up as well which is helfpul. She recommends products that can be bought at drug-stores (cheaper products) or products that can be bought at department stores which tend to be the more expensive products. I would recommend this book to any women who wants to take care of their skin :)
