I just couldn't get through this book... I really wanted to like it but I just couldn't. After finishing the Percy Jackson series I wasn't in the mood to read this book. I wanted something uplifting, fun and adventurous!

If I hadn't been in a reading slump I bet I would've loved the book. But it was just the wrong time and wrong book. Maybe I'll finish this book later on in the year...

I hope everyone else likes it because I really did try hard to finish this book.

As I read this book, I went through all the motions. It was almost as if I was her. I felt her sadness, her pain, her love, everything. It was incredible.

This book really stirred something in me. It sparked discussions with all of my friends and family. It made me wonder, if I was in her position what would I do?

I also managed to snag tickets to the advanced screening of the movie. It's absolutely beautiful. Strongly recommended for everyone to read and watch.

Makes you think about weather or not there is a middle ground between life and death.

I happened to pick up this book about two years ago by chance at a bargain book sale. After finishing the book, sheading many tears, I personally recommended it to all of my book loving friends. Needless to say, they loved it too. To all the people who say the book is boring, but still cried at the end, don't know how to judge a good book. I once read the book "13 Reasons Why" for literature circles. I first found it completely stupid for many reasons. But than my teacher asked why. I told her, "There were parts of it that mad me so upset, so in the moment, I thought I would be sick." Than she said, "That's just it. It's not always how good the plot is, or how interesting the characters are. It's how the book made you feel. It takes a lot to make an interesting story or a good read. But it takes SO much more to make the reader feel the emotions WITH the characters." That's exactly what I have to say to all the people who say this was a terrible book because it may have been slightly predictable, or a little low in the middle. Don't look at all the little flaws. Look at how it made you feel. If it really did take you on an emotional rollercoaster, laughing on minute than crying the next, than you felt with the book. Thus making it a perfect read, and making Gayle Forman an even more perfect author.

Makes you realize what life's really about. Middle was horribly boring. Ending left me sobbing.

The word heart breaking is apt fo rthis book - but I am not so sure I would encourage my young teenage daughter to read it -- there is enough sadness in the 'real world' without having to deal with such insights into dying at a young age. I suspect I wont go to the movie when it comes out becuase it is just so sad. Having said all of this it is a lovely and well written book which was a delight to read -- it just wasnt a book that left you feeling happy.

This book is perfection. I can't wait for the movie to come out I hope its as touching as the book and the director doesn't change too much about it!!!

I tried reading this book. It was so horribly sad and the ending is obvious, unless you are Shakespeare you can't write a book where the main character dies. I truly did not enjoy what I read of this book.

I read this book because its going to be a movie. To my surprise it was a drag out process for me. I'm not sure if its because I'm an adult reading a teen book but she just took way.... To long to figure out her outcome. Sometimes I just wanted to scream at the book lol.

In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck...

A sophisticated, layered, and heart-achingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make, and the ultimate choice Mia commands.

What if you had everything?
A gorgeous boyfriend who was madly in love with you?
Quirky hip parents who got you?
A musical talent that could take you anywhere?
What if your biggest problem in life was choosing which paths to take ?
Follow your first love-music- to New York City?
Or stay with your boyfriend , friends , and family?
What if one day you went for a drive . . .
And in an instant everything changed?
What if suddenly all the other choices were gone?
Except for one - the one that truly ever mattered ?
What would you do?
Stay . . .
If I Stay . . . .
If Mia Stays . . .

“If you stay, I'll do whatever you want. I'll quit the band, go with you to New York. But if you need me to go away, I'll do that, too. I was talking to Liz and she said maybe coming back to your old life would be too painful, that maybe it'd be easier for you to erase us. And that would suck, but I'd do it. I can lose you like that if I don't lose you today. I'll let you go. If you stay.”
