Add a CommentExciting read, interesting heroine. Looking forward to next book in series.
As soon as I started reading this I COULDN'T STOP! I enjoyed every...single...page. I never got a chance to be bored there was just too much going on all the time. Even the trip to Amber's was obviously going somewhere.... Some of us thought this was going to be another book battling it out with vampires but it was so much more. Lots of ghosts development so we learn more about her abilities with ghosts. Her induction into the pack. I look forward to getting more on the ramifications of this and this new mating bond. This book gave us lots of meaningful, touching moments between Mercy and Adam. Glad Mercy has come to grips with her choice and fears about being with Adam. There's resolution, friendship, and intimacy. Briggs dealt with this in a delicate and appropriate manner considering the big issue from book #3. I again wish Briggs didn't choose or prefer to leave the intimacy up to our imagination which is only okay for me when strong likeable characters, great plot(s) and solid entertainment value are present. This book has loads of all that IMHO. However I think more adult readers would rate the book higher if she had given us even a little more hands-on action with her man! Now I need to go rest my really sore, bloodshot eyes....until the next.
Great addition to this enjoyable series.
The fourth title of the MERCY THOMPSON series. You can't go wrong with Patricia Briggs. She's a great story teller and a master plot builder, and she has created an unforgettable set of characters. If you like the MERCY THOMPSON series, be sure to read the ALPHA AND OMEGA series, which tells the story of the “country” side of this werewolf pack. Here are the MERCY THOMPSON titles in reading order: Moon Called (2006); Blood Bound (Ace, 2007); Iron Kissed (2008); Bone Crossed (2009); Silver Borne ( 2010); River Marked (Ace, 2011); “The Star of David” in Wolfsbane & Mistletoe anthology (2010) "Red with Pearl" in Down These Strange Streets anthology (10-2011) Mercy Thompson: Homecoming (graphic novel, 2009)

this series is great-- Patricia Briggs really gets flow, plot and character.
i love this series!
Good continuation of the Mercy storyline. A bit fractured and hasty feeling, it feels like an interim set up book, but definitely well worth the read!!
This series is fantastic! The Library needs to get the complete series, pronto!
Briggs is one of my favorite authors — she never disappoints. I loved this one just as much as the rest in the Mercy series — it may be my favorite so far. I love that as the books progress you continue to learn new things about the characters (sometimes as they learn them) and that they continue to grow.
