A psychological thriller, and seems to have more Olivier influence than Hitchcock, in the acting. Definitely Hitchcock's camera work and scene setting.

A compelling story/mystery with some tense moments but I didn't really like the characters. I won't say that the book is any better.

A classic. Very nice release. Newer DVD. Didn't have any problems with this one.

From the opening line to the last scene, this movie provides lots of chills. And with all the elements of suspense, the brooding housekeeper, the lusty old friend of the dead wife, the overly mysterious husband, this film hits every nerve.

This film is fabulous. Many very interesting and complex characters.
