This is a cute story, but not really a children's. If a child read this book, they would be tearified any time they saw a woman with gloves on! Not that many people nowadays wear gloves...

Violence: Parents should note that the witches hate children and their purpose in life is to rid the world of them. The spells are not particularly gruesome, but the results and effects can be. Very young children might be too frightened and should not read this book without parental consent.
