Another book by one of my favorite authors, Roald Dahl. This book is gripping and exciting. It is one of my favorites.

Roald Dahl at his brilliant (and twisted) best. A far scarier read as an adult than as a child; my two children loved the adventure and the relationship between the boy and his grandmother.

I read this to my son, and he absolutely adored it. The squiggly pictures let him "see" his own ideas of what the book was about.

Violence: Parents should note that the witches hate children and their purpose in life is to rid the world of them. The spells are not particularly gruesome, but the results and effects can be. Very young children might be too frightened and should not read this book without parental consent.
