Add a CommentThis compilation, as the title suggests, is a guide to the "classic" novels. Many people will find that they've been to that shelf, read that! However each entry ends with a "Where to go next" section. There are undoubtedly some hidden gems in these notes. This compilation is organized by themes such as romance, adventure, mystery, crime, and others. Each entry offers a brief outline of the plot and often some comments about the author's life and writing career. For foreign language books, a recommended translation is suggested. For novels that have made it onto the Silver Screen, a suggestion is made about the adaptation. The book has an index.
