The BFG is no ordinary bone-crunching giant. He is far too nice and jumbly. It's lucky for Sophie that he is. Had she been carried off in the middle of the night by the Bloodbottler, or any of the other giants?rather than the BFG?she would have soon become breakfast. When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!
Baker & Taylor
The BFG--Big Friendly Giant--kidnaps Sophie from her bed in the orphanage and takes her back to Giantland where she becomes involved in a scheme to end the loathsome activities of nine evil giants

what a great book but not five stars
a friendly book that will never get old, love this book forever #imagineteencontest
This book is a great amazing story!
THIS BOOK IS EPIC! it is my favourite ever book. it has lots of Roald Dahls funny made-up words, (for instance the television is called the telly-telly bunkum box), and it is very fast moving. Amazing. :)
The BFG is very kind
This is one of my most favorite of all Roald Dahl's books. The story is engaging and fantastic. Quentin Blake's illustrations are wonderful (the teeny little Sophie is so cute!). The story includes one of the best messages on protecting the environment I've read anywhere, and also provides commentary on humans' propensity for violence against other humans (all couched in language suitable for children). The BFG first appeared in Danny the Champion of the World (he featured in a bedtime story Danny's dad would tell him).
Makes me glad that I don't have to eat snozzcumbers!
One of my most favorite books since childhood.
Great book! Such an amazing, beautiful story.
