Set in pre-World War I England, this film concerns the coming of age of two young men who meet at Cambridge and fall in love. It brilliantly dissects the moral hypocrisy of Edwardian England as Maurice and Clive struggle with the desires of their hearts and the rigid constraints of society.

Add a CommentBeautiful movie on many levels.
Worthwhile viewing from Merchant/Ivory. This classic gay love story by E.M.Forster about an upper-crust master and a game-runner actually has a happy ending. Watch Hugh Grant portray a closet homosexual: what a stretch. See Rupert Graves' bush and tush. Quite a stretch.
Homosexual movie.
