As I was reading this book, the first thing that popped into my head was, this is Eloise, but as a pig! I adore little kids who have huge imaginations, too much energy and loads of intelligence. Olivia has all of these. I loved reading about her very busy days. I love how famous artwork was incorporated into the book. I love how Olivia tries to make a Jackson Pollock on her bedroom wall. What child hasn't tried something similar?
The only thing I did not like was the use of red, black, and white colors only for the illustrations. This is simply my personal preference. I like to see more color in a kids book.
Overall, a very enjoyable and funny book.
Would I recommend this book? YES. For ages 5 and up.

This is the kind of book that makes me want to have a kid. It makes me yearn for the days when my brothers and sisters were busy little three and four year olds, going about all of their very important business. So, so cute.

This is a good reading that can be used to talk about gender and identity issues with younger kids.

a wonderfully funny book
ages 2-7
heart warming and entertaining

This book is hilarious! I grew up in the 70s and I see a greater selection of quality childrens' books today.

Olivia could be your daughter. It gives a humorous and realistic look at the life of Olivia the pig.

I particularily enjoyed Olivia's attempt to recreate a Jackson Pollock painting.

Well and stylishly illustrated, but the text is a little too coy and the main character a little too clothing-obsessed to make for an enduring book. Inherent gender bias might make it slightly more appealing to girls.
