Kate is a successful and single businesswoman who has long put her career ahead of a personal life. At 37, she's finally determined to have a child on her own. Unable to get pregnant, a driven Kate allows South Philly working girl Angie Ostrowiski to become her unlikely surrogate. After learning that Angie is pregnant, Kate goes into precision nesting mode. She reads childcare books, baby-proofs the apartment and researches top pre-schools. But, Kate's well-organized strategy is turned upside down when her Baby Mama shows up at her doorstep with no place to live. Structured Kate tries to turn vibrant Angie into the perfect expectant mom. In a battle of wills, they prepare for the baby's arrival. They soon discover that there are two kinds of family: the one you're born to and the one you make.

Didn't think I would like this movie, but was very surprised and now it is a favourite of mine. Fell in love with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, they are hilarious and adorable.

I am not a big fan of Amy Poehler so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this movie, but as always Tina Fey is both brilliant and awkwardly funny. If you are a fan of Tina Fey then I would not miss this one. I would recommend this to fans of childish humor.

Great Movie! I saw it in theaters and had to see it again when I while I am pregnant. I wouldn't say it is very appropriate for children though. But if you enjoy SNL comedy, then you should really enjoy this one.

Good - Baby Mama (2008) *** 99 min. starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live fame, Greg Kinnear, Sigourney Weaver and Steve Martin (as the New Age boss) – This is a good comedy about a woman (Tina Fey) who needs a surrogate mother to carry her child to term (enter the wacky Amy Poehler). This film works because of the chemistry between these two SNL alumni’s despite the story’s serious subject matter. I particularily enjoyed Dax Sheperd, who played Amy Poehler’s common law husband. He must share the same DNA as Jethro Bodine of Beverly Hillbillies fame – what a knucklehead. There’s a wonderful scene in which Greg Kinnear and Tina Fey dine at a vegan restaurant and are subjected to eating yeast – yes, yeast, until they find out that they both love meat. I liked this film; it was funny and crazy enough to be memorable. The only thing I was waiting for was for Tina Fey to do her Sarah Palin impersonation – guess she may be a little type-cast.

I love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler so I was quite excited to see this movie. Didn't quite live up to my expectations but it was still very fun.
