Love Actually
It's all about love and holiday cheer in London. The Prime Minister is smitten with his caterer; a widower's young son nurses the ultimate schoolboy crush; a writer falls for his Portuguese housekeeper; a devoted wife and mother copes with her potentially unfaithful husband; and a lovelorn American is desperately attracted to a colleague.

One of my favourite movies of all time! You could watch it a million times and never get bored with it! Great movie to watch any time of the year! If you are in need of a good laugh, great actors, and a fabulous plot, watch this!

Question... Wouldnt the fact its rated "r" give you the clue not to watch this with your 10 year old??

Bill Nighy's character offers, at the outset, a clue as to how this movie might be interpreted. The aging pop star is creating a song for the holiday season with a simplistic jingly tune. It's awful but people lap it up because their taste in music is minimal and he's endearingly amusing. The rest of the movie mirrors that: it's a collection of not-to-believed romantic comedy clichés, starring a bunch of actors we recognize and love. Viewers who just adore gross sentimentalism will love this film whether or not they notice that it's spoofing what they love. Not that I know for absolute sure that it is a spoof. It's just that it would be awful if we were meant to take this silly concoction seriously. Richard Curtis has never admitted publicly that it's a spoof, but it would be very risky to, given his long-standing market and his ability to put out almost anything and have it almost instantly turn into zillions of dollars.

A typical holiday romance featuring different types of relationships and love. I would have been ok with it except for some ethical concerns: the British prime minister falls for an employee half his age (she's initially his admin assistant, until he has her re-assigned), and a 10-yr-old boy falls for a girl in his class and is encouraged by his father to bypass airport security to send her off. Security brings him back, and his father smiles and there are no consequences. Also, although the girl is only 10, she sings, "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

A new classic, great romantic comedy (or comedies, with all the story lines), sweet and "feel-good": definitely one to see again at Christmas.

Whoa! NOT for kids!! There are simulated sex acts throughout the film which are funny and not real. We watched this back to back with Valentine's Day which also has a load of stars whose multiple stories somehow mesh at the end. Though not generally a fan of Hugh Grant, to see him in the role as England's Prime Minister was charming. Colin Firth is adorable and mushy...just the way we like him. Different types of love and how it all comes together. Date movie? Go for it if you're both wanting a rom-com with mush factor of 4/5.... we did!

A star-studded cast of British and American actors get into the holiday spirit in London during the weeks before Christmas. Love Actually is a fun filled romantic comedy with some great music as well. This movie did not get the acclaim it deserved at the time and some of the extra actors have since gone on to become stars .

Sweet, bittersweet, and very funny musings on the pleasures and pains of being in love, starring an A-list cast of mostly British thespians. Highly recommended! And check out the deleted scenes -- as good as the scenes in the movie!

Love's various forms and stages shown through a conglomerate of "six degrees of separation" relationships. Watch the deleted scenes. This film was origianlly 3 1/2 hours long and I enjoyed the cut scenes enough to have watched them if they had been included in the movie and took it back to the origianal running time.

Hurry up big boy, I'm naked and I want you at least twice before Jamie gets home.

Jamie: Beautiful Aurelia, I've come here with a view of asking you to marriage me. I know I seems an insane person - because I hardly knows you - but sometimes things are so transparency, they don't need evidential proof. And I will inhabit here, or you can inhabit with me in England.
Sophia Barros: [in Portuguese] Definitely go for England, girl. You'll meet Prince William - then you can marry him instead.
