In response to Canine_sCompanion's comment: Do you mind expending on why it is imposible to forget that the book is written by a man? Is it because of the ladies' attitude to sports? I have many girlfriends who talk about sport the same way althoulh I myself love soccer. have you ever heard of a theory that there are male and female writers in terms of style, not the actual gender of the author?

This whole series is an easy, but very entertaining read. I enjoyed them all.

A worthy addition to the series that I though was ending two books ago -- everyone seemed so settled. Glad he has continued. But he cannot stretch the "gentle charm and folk wisdom" too much further. Hope the 2011 book will end the series. Man writing from woman's perspective - don't see why this book is more of a problem thanthe previous ones (reply to Canine_s Companion). Yes, some women understand and love sports. Dr. McS. knows that. but these particular women, in their charming, and quite literal, simple approach to life -- don't. I laughed out loud a couple of times at their puzzlements and comments about soccer.

If you want to relax while reading this book and The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency Series is a great combination of culture, misteries, romance and sense of humor.

I love this series. I think these characters are some of the warmest and admirable in any book. They are not perfect but they are real and strive to be "good" and do the right thing. I always wish more people were like these characters in real life.

I love this series - but this book - makes the reader very aware that it is a man writing from the perspective of a woman. The other books I can forget it but not this one.

I'm a big fan of the #1 ladies detective agency series...this is the latest title in the series and it doesn't disappoint! Each book is a whimsical, easy read. The first in the series is The #1 Ladies Detective Agency.
